@idrubi, music show recording, backstage at mbs music premier ( prompt ).
eunsol supposes there’s a certain whimsy to the occult. a gauzy layer of mystery draped around their group, sheer enough with blended horror that it doesn’t step too far outside the lines of acceptable idol-dom. or maybe it does, considering their lackluster reception. something eunsol still isn’t spectacularly thrilled about. after all, it was the entire reason that she became an idol. she thinks it’s just a little foolish, when she hears other rattle off about how they became an idol due to their love of music in interviews. there are so many other avenues, less manufactured ones. to say that one stepped into this career because they love music, full stop, sounds like a joke.
if she wanted to throw herself to the whims of musical integrity she’d have never become an idol.
but here she is, still struggling to find purchase for her group, despite koala.t’s (so stated) best efforts to market them as something outside of the norm, outstanding, talented, known outside of the industry, and whatever other substance-thin headlines they can pull out of their ass when they decide they have enough money pooled to waste it on a business post.
two years in, and eunsol still isn’t thrilled.
she doesn’t hate it, the job. she doesn’t hate it, nightmares concept. she doesn’t hate it, the music that they do. she likes it more than other styles companies around them are turning out. she likes the horror, likes it over hyper-sweet magic girl or quirky-sexy safe combo. but eunsol hadn’t dove into this industry nitpicking until she found a concept she liked. she would’ve done either of the other two as well. because it’s not entirely about the music to her. she just managed to fall into a concept that she liked.
including the kitschy horror-intros koala.t sometimes writes into their stage performances. it’s the entire reason why she’s outfitted in a large cape, hood pulled up and over to the point of almost obscuring her eyes. it’s part of the stage outfit for the filming later, but she’s crowding herself closer to rubi sitting on the couch next to her, phone lifted to take pictures of them both. eunsol’s almost shamefully active on social media -- or that’s how it might be referred to if she found any shame in it at all. “more creepy, less little red,” she decides with a quick laugh, flicks at the end of a dyed-red strand of hair as she waits for rubi to pose.
