Okay, all of you budding entomologists ... What is this beast? A wasp? A hornet? . . Kev pulled it out of the pool filter. . .It's curled up, but if it were stretched out, it would likely be at least 1.5" long. It has a very wide abdomen, a fat waist, red body and wings, and those yellow spots. It would be pretty, if it didn't have a stinger! . . My first thought was murder hornet, of course, but that's not right. 😅 Cicada Killer Wasp maybe? 🤔 But the patterns don't seem to match anything I've found on Google. And that yellow "nose" ...
