Prowl and Megs
Maybe I need to attempt to make Shockwave next so the friendgroup is complete. After all, Shockwave gotta be number 1 in that area
I may be a little more biased to decepticons than autobots, and that may be why Megatron has more effort out into him than the other bots up until now. Or it could be that I finally found the right size to work on to make a bust shot look good for the boyos. Still haven't started Nautica yet. ;^; wish me luck xx • • • #megatron #idwmegatron #goodboy #idwtransformers #idwcomics #fanart #art #myart #lostlightfest #cutie #robot #decepticon #autobot #justfightingforhisfreedomman #ilovehim #idprotecthimbuthedoesntneedit #copicmarkers #traditionalart #promarkers https://www.instagram.com/p/BomXPHjnYB8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=u73djsxbpuz5
I gotta tell y’all.
It was a physical weight off my shoulders, when this revelation dropped.
Megatron’s actions were never due to him being a victim of circumstance, or any ‘madness’ of his. He was always, absolutely, completely in control, of every single thing he has ever done.
Having that finally acknowledged added 5 years back to my life.
It’s so very interesting isn’t it? How Megs’ revelation came when someone was shouting at him to shoot. Someone was telling him to be violent after being told left and right that his violence is not permitted.
Even when it means protecting his own life.
Manipulation is one of Megatron’s core characteristics. If he can’t have control by force, he takes it by lying. Megs had a revelation that moment Tailgate implored him to act violently to save the crew, alright. It’s selfish. Irrational. Riding entirely on his pride, like most of his revelations.
If I can’t benefit from the use of my force, then no one can.
And in that moment, if Tailgate hadn’t supermanned it up, it would’ve likely cost him his life. He didn’t care. His gun probably wouldn’t have done the job anyway. If he was going to die, it would be with him in control. And of course he knows how selfish, irrational and above all un-Autobotlike that revelation is.
What is an acceptable reason among Autobots?
But of course, this is all conjecture.
Yet.
Regardless of whether Megs is acting in sincerity, his renouncing of violence is quite
quaint.
Roddy is far more intelligent than he usually acts (We’ll also elect to ignore how firmly his fashion sense is cemented in 1988).
Megatron obviously wasn’t quite aware how the holomatter avatars worked – otherwise I doubt he would’ve dropped right in without making a few adjustments first. Like his cane. His Decepticon insignia topped cane, that he couldn’t drop fast enough when Roddy called attention to it.
And further along he also (temporarily) dispensed with the warlord trench and gloves –
– much to his regret it seems. Nautica, you continue to be a magnificent combination of clueless and ballsy.
I’m unsure if this shedding of his war memorabilia has more or less to do with an actual release of his ties with those things, or simply for the sake of appearance around the Autobots. The cynic in me is leaning towards the latter, especially since that phantom impression of the Decepticon insignia never quite leaves his face.
Confused faces are always a treasure.
