duty.
with @idxtaewoo at midas media building, recording a vlive.
aroon doesn’t like maybes. he doesn’t like uncertainty. he has always been a person who knows what he wants and what he has to do to achieve it, setting his goals higher and higher as he grew. for him there is no room for hesitation. you either know how to do something or you don’t, you either have the feeling or you don’t.
he knows he doesn’t hate taewoo. if anything aroon loves him out of duty, like a family member. they’ve known each other for years, there is fondness in his heart when he thinks of the dancer. there was a short period during their trainee years when aroon felt as if they were in direct competition for something, but that was soon put to rest when they debuted together.
taewoo is, as it seems to be the theme with 1nferno, a gentle, soft soul. every time aroon thinks about him is of how he always seem on the verge of a mental breakdown, like someone carrying a heavy weight on his shoulders. aroon wonders if midas did it on purpose, if they not only coordinated their skills, but their personalities too. all the boys seem to be too sweet to be idols, not cut for the dog eats dog world.
except aroon.
he has the controlling type of personality that sometimes overtakes the group, the one who decides what they should do, when and where. for taewoo, aroon always made sure to not bother him with things he could solve himself. ( “woosung, if you need anything you come to me, not to taewoo, leave him be.” “hyukie you know you can’t hide another cat here, taewoo will have a breakdown if the managers catch us again.” ).
the problem with taewoo is of external matters and it seems unfair to unleash on him, the poor boy was thrown into this as well. it started as soon as 1nferno debuted, but it was subtle back then, it didn’t bother aroon too much. but now they are three years in and he is fucking tired of being pushed together with taewoo, of being forced skinship with taewoo, of always having to do things with taewoo because they both are short and look cute.
( “you know they are only putting us together because those weirdos online like to fantasize about us fucking, right?” aroon asked him once. )
now here they are again, being told to do a vlive because black on black was mediocre – aroon knew it would be, the song is not good – and they have to appeal to the fanbase. and aroon knows, he knows, he will have to do most of the talking because taewoo, like the rest of 1nferno, is not an extrovert.
aroon sits besides taewoo, two cups of coffee in hand, and slides one to him – he is angry, but considerate. “okay so what are we doing today?” he asks. “what’s our gameplan here? should we talk about practice? should we sit a bit closer? maybe we should read some fanfic.” from behind the phone his manager glares at him. “just kidding!” he chuckles, sarcastic, takes a sip of his iced macchiato. “for real though, we gotta do something good.” he looks at taewoo and sighs. there he goes again, making aroon feel the need to take the lead. “give me something, woo.”
