It was not exactly a secret that Danny was carrying 1nferno on the variety front. Seokyung wrote his lyrics, Woosung danced, and Wei stood in front of cameras. Danny did variety. Wei partook because he was the best option, but that was a bit like saying he was the fish least likely to die out of water. Thankfully, they were doing Weekly Idol as a group, so Wei did not have to consider being anything but charming. He was always more likable around the other members of 1nferno; his responsible behavior suddenly became a bit more charming, especially while he chastised the other members, particularly Danny. However, another relationship the matches adored was the one between him and Woosung. Usually it led to some shots of Wei looking out for Woosung. Really, Wei had every reason to dislike Woosung; he had way too much screen time and was liked by everyone. Literally, no one had a bad thing to say about him. Wei would normally dislike him, but he couldn’t find it in him. Woosung really needed to be protected at all cost.
Spotting him backstage, Wei made his way over to him. Woosung was probably nervous. He was always far too nervous for someone who was in a kpop group; everyone knew he was talented, but clearly, he needed the extra push sometimes. Wei was never physically affectionate; the only time he ever did it was for skinship. However, Woosung really seemed like he could use some physical affection. He put his arm around his shoulder, even though there were no cameras present. “You are going to do fine. Random Play Dance was made for you. And if there’s a lull, I promise to spontaneously break into push ups,” he joked. “Maybe take my shirt off.” They both knew he was not going to do either of those things; the latter was definitely not him. People did not deserve to see him in all his glory. It was a treat. “At least we don’t have to lie about being close.” Really, they got lucky; Wei knew most groups pretended to like each other. Wei didn’t genuinely like people in general himself. It was different with 1nferno though. “Cheer up.”
