thIS IS MY POEM PLS DONT JUDGE ME
I DONT KNOW WTF THIS IS OK ITS LATE AND IM TIRED
Early in the morning, just as the sun began to rise,
A young woman slowly awoke, much to her despise.
She sat up straight and stretched her arms,
Hopped out of bed and hit snooze on the alarm.
Dressing in only the finest of clothes
And pricey boots with a color of midnight dark,
She sprayed a spritz of the fragrance musk rose,
Then eloquently strolled beneath the doorway arc.
Out came her iPhone as she strolled towards a bright yellow car.
Clicking an app of the signs of the stars,
Katy’s horoscope clearly shadowed an unwanted encounter.
Seeing an old enemy sounded quite like a downer.
It read: “Oh no! It might not be the day that you want to go out,
Someone you know, a person of your past,
Will cross paths with you today, without a doubt.
Unless you wish to know the outcome, get home fast!”
Katy rolled her blue eyes and tucked her phone
Away in her pocket, its usual home.
Horoscopes were too magic-like
And she should not believe in that, right?
She reached out her hand and gripped the taxi door
Right at the same time as another person, a guy.
Glancing up she gaped at the high school man whore,
The one who caused her hours of depressed cry.
“Whoa, Katy! Is that you?” exclaimed Dylan as he
Pulled open the car so she could not flee.
She stepped inside as he followed behind
Then he pulled the door shut, rendering them confined.
Before Katy answered, she thought of senior year.
To be more exact, the anticipated night of prom;
The one in which she shed hundreds of tears,
With her face hidden in her own two palms.
After years of wanting him so badly,
And in those years loving him oh so madly,
Dylan – cute, sweet, tall Dylan – made her dreams come true
When he asked her to prom and threw her world askew.
Of course she said yes as she twirled in pure delight,
And departed to purchase a beautiful dress.
As prom night approached, clear in her sight,
She was completely prepared and ready to impress.
But on that lovely night as she waited for her prince,
Sitting on her porch attempting to convince
Herself that he would show, the time ticked by.
Hours passed – One, two, three, four, and five.
Finally she came to the worst possible thought:
The boy of her dreams, so wonderfully charming,
Stood her up and evidently loved her naught.
Dylan played her so easily, no idea of the harming.
Katy snapped back to present day.
He was staring at her, so obviously gay!
The moment she met his cheerful cerulean eyes,
She realized how much she missed even his goodbyes.
All feelings of hate quickly washed away,
Since she remembered all the fun times
They had together. Wanting him to stay
She took out a few fives and a dime.
She offered the money to the taxi man,
Before turning to Dylan with quite an
Audacious action ready in her mind.
She kissed his cheek, their structure so defined.
Though a bold move, both were so ecstatically happy.
And alas! The two were so amiably reunited!
They lived happily ever after, like in love stories so sappy.
And I suppose the moral is: horoscopes are always invited!
