⸻ A KNOWING SMILE APPEARED ON THE MALE’S FACE AS HE LISTENED TO THE OTHER. “I hear you. I wish I could just let it go and stop caring.” In truth, Jaehee was pretty much brought up to value himself and the beliefs of the ones he loved more than anyone else’s, he didn’t care much for stigma as he believed people would draw their own conclusions but here, in Korea, it was very much not the case. His grandmother was on his case twenty-four seven and would push him to comfort at every turn. But the sentiment about family hit hard. “You’re so right.” Only recently he realised that. Family was by choice, not by birth. But there was still a lot that he had to still take into consideration. “See, but the thing is, I’m a complete outsider here. I just... don’t know most of the time what I’m supposed to do and how to behave not to antagonise everyone around me and... that’s where my relatives win.” It was in moments like this that he missed France. Things were better there, they were familiar. They were okay. “My family knows that I wouldn’t survive without them here. I don’t know how to break free...”
