While I am deeply disturbed by judging anyone on physical appearance, nor that these sexist tropes inherently continue with these contests* (see below)...what progress it feels like to look up at a TV screen at the gym and see these 3 women & how they reflect that these organizations with their limited and stereotypical ideas are (at least partially) finally "getting it" more about the diversity of humankind. Babysteps, yes. But every step is important and worth celebrating... Congrats to @missusa, @missteenusaoff, and @missamerica for being socially-engaged, career women who will and have made a difference in the world. #ifyoucanseeit #ifshecanseeitshecanbeit #visibility *...(luring people to spend tons of $$, focus on external appearance and buy into some invisible 'hierarchy' structure, with space for only one winner at the table...all demoralizing and ethically questionable and undermining women's power by buying into the "rules")... Conversations to be had!! https://www.instagram.com/kqibfilm/p/BxKZrq3AlaZ/?igshid=is14gv0hkmvv
