While riding/walking my bike along a dirt road, which led me through the countryside of the Dutch province of Drenthe I was amazed by the speed the crop planted in the extremely fertile soil of an ancient ridge, which is called "de Hondsrug", was growing! Just like there was nothing a week ago, and now, look! 3 Ice ages formed the ridge between 420.000 and approximately 13.000 years ago and there is a good chance that next one will heighten the hill even more and leave again extraordinary fertile soil for future generations to feast of! Due to the drought lately the sand on which I'm trying to come forward in order to provide you all with shots of the amazing beauty that surrounds me, is amazingly loose and had me gasping for air and sweating like a pig while trying to reach the summit of the icy hill!
