I just stumbled across this photographer, which is such a great coincidence as i was just planning on setting up a photoshoot looking at the way fabric falls across the body and how it can be warped my extraneous factors such as wind and water. As this can create a very subtle but effective way of showing the anatomy/shapes of the body.
Some of his images are fantastic. I prefer the ones without lots of after effects and photo-shopping, as i always feel less is more.
His work also shows influences from Chiaroscuro; with it's dark background, deep shadows and highlighted areas. This draws the eye to the sitter/model and not much else. There is no background to distract a viewer. I like this effect as it gives the sitter more power and makes an onlooker think about the obvious significance of that one person or thing. Like with the Christ in Caravaggio's painting a couple of posts bellow.
The overall feel i get from it is very ethereal.
