the reason Kim doesn’t have a secondary gender is because only the other world has them, and since he wasn’t born there he never presented as anything. but because he consumed several humans and humanoids of that world, he can shift his body into any of the secondary genders and even mimic heats and ruts if he wanted to
in terms of the general world, all humans and humanoids have secondary genders except demons. this is because they’re so distantly related genetically. magic can be used as a heat/rut suppressant, and the church also produces drugs and medicines that the general populace who can’t use magic can take
