Mocking Elections
Last May 2, 2013, a Mock Election was held here in our office. Mock Election is a practice of voting and also serves as a survey before the actual elections.
So according to that one piece of paper with a list of several names, we are required to choose 12 people for senate. So as I was looking at the list, I failed to complete the 12. I just shaded seven names and submitted mine.
Why seven? Truth is, it's not because I think they are the top people to pick, but it's because on that list, there are lots of people I don't want to vote for. And those seven people are the only ones left. Out of that seven people I chose, I only chose one candidate that I'm confident to vote for because I think he's over qualified and worth voting for.
It bothers me that I have to eliminate people just to vote. Are we really running out of options nowadays? Shouldn't it be better if we choose them because we think they are qualified and deserving and not because they are the least terrible choices?
Elections is near and I hope people triple check their choices before actually choosing them. Choose the ones you think is worth voting for and don't ever settle for less.
