The Aunties : when you’re a teen mom/Young Mom most people don’t stick around. 🤷🏼♂️ it’s just the truth. 13 years ago I started calling these two lifelines of mine Auntie. But it is, after all, just a name. What followed in the last 13 years is these two showing up, consistently, and making the choice to fulfill a name, a role. They have met us in restaurants, hotels, traveled long hours to accommodate napping schedules, stayed with my children while I’ve given birth, been with me in the depths of depression and anxiety, and have always lifted me up. For this kid’s 13th birthday Auntie Amy dragged baby Gray on a hot day to a go cart track/arcade and gave Jack one of the best days ever with his family. Auntie Emma surprised Jack, waiting on our steps from Colorado with two Hamilton tickets she knew we couldn’t gift him. Tell the people in your life you love them. Write them love letters. And love them back. Love is a verb. #omg #ihaveateenager #auntieamylynn #myfriendsaremyeverything https://www.instagram.com/p/BnWNAT_gqF4/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=15a848jyxur8z
