Update #9 San Francisco

I'm playing catch up a bit.... 

I was keen to see San Francisco as so many people rave about it and it was a fun and pretty city – sort of like if Greenwich Village and Sydney ever combined (waterfront, architecture, alternative culture etc).

Here’s what happened:

Went to Fishermen’s Warf and Pier 39 like all the good tourists.   Fishermen’s Warf is essentially a boardwalk with overpriced restaurants and tourist shops and Pier 39 is next to it where Sea Lions have taken over a pontoon.  Sea Lions are awesome but they stink.

I hiked up Coit (yes, it is pronounced the same as the vulgar slang word…) Tower to get a vista over the whole city.

I visited the painted ladies and pretended I was in Full House. 

I made a friend (Hi Marcia!) and we went to a really confusing pub crawl, did the Alcatraz tour (which was actually really good) and visited the Golden Gate bridge and the fort beneath it.

I got a headcold and it made me sooky.

All up though it was a nice little stop on the way down the west coast (although quite cold!)
