Well the girls and their parents kicked off our first meetup today! We started with play and breakfast at Chick-Fi-La. We plan, they play a great combination to get some things done! Afterwards we caught the early showing of @WonderWoman. The girls were intrigued with the imagery, power and heroism. One of the girls said, She liked when Wonder Woman defeated the man in the tower. She was real strong. 🤗🤗🤗 They had LOTS of questions, but I am happy to answer any questions they have to stretch their minds. Last week this came in the mail. When I saw the envelope I thought it was my retirement information. No biggie. However, when I opened the package it was an updated lifetime membership certificate, letter and card from GSUSA. Whoa now! I recently transferred my membership to Louisiana to start my troop this fall and thought maybe this is why I received the updated lifetime information. I've been a lifetime member for nearly 20 years. But as I pondered this more, this package served as a reminder of were purpose birthed. #GirlScouts is where my gifts were prepped, pruned and fine tuned. Literally! It was Girl Scouts that positioned me for what I do and who I am today. This was not just a job, but a training ground for my destiny! So thankful to the countless women from True Vine to Lake Providence to Bernice to Weisser Park to South Town to Georgetown to Grabill to East Point to Clayton County to Fayetteville to Decatur to Dunwoody to Norcross who helped played a part in the development of of this woman named Zakiya Siti! I know you're wondering where are all these places? They are communities I've worked through Girl Scours in Louisana, Indiana and Mississippi. The Mad Science event was a total success!! There were many smiling faces and tired adults who helped make this event a success!! With the support of Terilyn Smith's -Basic Enhancements program the world of #STEM was brought to the girl's fingertips. Never underestimate the opportunity to expose kids to new adventures, you never know what seed you're planting.
