         ―  𝐉𝐀𝐖  𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒  𝐅𝐎𝐑  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓,  focused  on  his  computer  before  looking  up  to  spot  the  femme. clearing  his  throat  now,  he's  leaning  back  now  and  placing  the  computer  down  on  the  coffee  table. he  never  usually  spent  time  outside  of  the  mansion,  but  with  the  girl,  he  did  just  about  anything  for  her. narrow  eyebrows  as  he's  motioning  her  over. ❝  just  the  girl  i  was  hoping  to  see,  know  you  were  just  in  the  other  room,  but  still,  miss  you  when  you  leave. wanna  come  cuddle  for  a  little  ??  ❞  the  tattooed  male  questions,  eyebrows  now  raising  in  a  curious  fashion.

he still found it amusing that the pair had ended up married but it worked out in their favor - they fell in love along the way and he wouldn’t trade how things happened for anything. as the clock was counting down to the new year, he took a sip of the drink in his hand before setting it down on the counter. approaching his husband and placing his hands on the other’s waist, a soft smile on his lips. “ can’t believe i’m going into new year as a married man. who would have thought ?? ”

the last few days, the house has been rather silent between the two but that was all to blame on alex. he had a bit of a melt down and although he had apologized several times for the misunderstanding, it seemed that carter didn’t have the intentions of lightening up anytime soon. approaching the separate room that he was in with a cup of coffee in his hand, he softly knocked on the doorframe and waited till he at least had his eye contact. “are you still mad at me ??”

“look- i’m sorry,” eden began, steeling her spine and pushing down the hurt that had been building in anticipation of this moment. “but i can’t do this. i can’t. you’re asking for too much from me.” she couldn’t be as vulnerable as they wanted, couldn’t open up, couldn’t rely on someone like that. “so it’s best that we just stop now, before it gets worse.”

“I’m still finding or hearing a reason that I should hire you over anyone else who’s right outside my door. You aren’t quite dazzling me,” Avery said after a beat of silence. “I want to give you a chance to set yourself apart,” She was feeling a little kinder that day. They had come all this way and it was a little difficult to turn them away so quickly. But they hadn’t done anything to shed themselves in a different light compared to the other applicants.

admittedly when she’d first started looking for a roommate, hera had been a little naïve and opened up her search to anyone and everyone. luckily she hadn’t ended up with a total creep and instead a roommate that she liked. they’d clicked from the get-go, perhaps a little too well, but for the first time since they’d moved in things felt awkward. all thanks to the fact her roommate was no longer single. settling herself down onto the couch beside them, she idly scrolled through her phone while glancing at them out of the corner of her eye. “so... any plans for tonight?”

     —     luce gasped when her feet left the floor, both out of surprise and shock and laughter. maybe a little giddiness mixed in there as well. later, she might be embarrassed about the little yelp that escaped her mouth when she realized she was being picked up but in the moment, the rush of elation is the only thing she can register. since when had they gotten so strong? “put me down!” she gasped, a laugh escaping with her words. “why would you do this?”

“Being an adult means I can absolutely eat ice cream for dinner!” Alison insisted, carton of her favourite flavour in hand. Sure it wasn’t exactly healthy, but she’d had a day and it felt earned. “I’ll make up for it tomorrow.”
