There have been complaints about lack of access or fear of ISRO workers talking to the media and stating things on record. I hope the LinkedIn story allows ThePrint to also talk to people who go from IIST to ISRO and are happy there.
Perhaps, wrong expectations are set? When you look at the IIST website for undergraduate admissions page, nowhere does it mention that you would not get to work in an ISRO center of your choice. The only thing mentioned is a line that reads: "Posting of the candidates to Centres/Units shall be notified by ISRO Headquarters."

IIST Admission 2020 Notification has been released on 17th January 2020 for UG courses. It will be conducted by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. IIST is an autonomous institution established under the UGC Act. This institute is affiliated to ISRO. The institution offers admission into UG and PG courses in the field of space technology, space sciences and space applications. Many science students have a dream to join the Indian Space Agency which is known as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). ISRO is one of the largest successful space agencies in the world. Every year ISRO recruits many candidates for different opportunities. There are also many students who want to join ISRO but they don’t know the steps to get into ISRO. So, here are all the things that you should know about joining ISRO.
What is ISRO?
ISRO is a space agency that was established on 15 August 1969 and headquartered in Bengaluru. There are many organizations under ISRO and it offers many opportunities in order to involve in undertaking the development of innovative technologies that will help to establish the advanced infrastructure needed for space exploration and beyond.
How to get into ISRO?
You can get into ISRO in ways after completing your 12th from non-medical science stream. The first way to get into ISRO is, you can pursue engineering and crack the ISRO Centralized Recruitment Board (ICRB) examination. The second way to get into ISRO is, you can take admission to the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram which directly recruits to ISRO.
ISRO ICRB exam
ISRP ICRB is a national level exam for the recruitment of graduates for the post of scientist and engineers. This exam is conducted in two stages: offline written exam and personal interview. BE/BTech with at 65% is required to appear in the examination and a final year student can also apply for the exam. The age limit for the exam in 30 years.
IIST, Thiruvananthapuram
After completing 12th you can get admission in IIST by cracking the JEE Main and Advanced exam with a good rank. You have to 7.5 CGPA in IIST to be eligible for ISRO counseling. The recruitment of candidates also depends on the number of vacancies.

Amount of homeless people decreases and that they are given the opportunity to improve their lives
That the factors that cause global warming will be replaced with less harmful ways
Animals and their environments will be protected from hunting and destruction
That you stay/become happy and that you accomplish your goals
