IIT Roorkee inaugurated a 200 kVA Micro Grid System, a C-MAC and also observed handing over two electric carts to the campus community on Friday, October 27, 2023. IIT Roorkee and NRDC formalize their strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This collaboration underscores our dedication to fostering innovation and bolstering India's technological self-sufficiency. Additionally, NRDC delegations including Cmde Amit Rastogi Retd. (CMD), Shri Amitabh Mishra and Sh. Ashwani Kumar witnessed niche R&D activities in Incubation facilities like TIDES, iHuB & CRTDH at IIT Roorkee.

THDC India Limited (THDCIL) and IIT Roorkee have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on October 2023 to engage in a wide array of research activities, encompassing domains such as Energy Conservation, Alternatives to Li-Ion Storage Batteries, Nano Technology for Electric Vehicle Battery, Green Hydrogen, Geo-Thermal Technology, Climate Change, waste management and recycling, water management and conservation, Vortex induced vibrations, Tunnelling techniques, Bio Fuels, Grid Stability Improvements, and various other pertinent fields, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event was organised by the academic affairs office which was graced by the Charge d’affairs of the embassy of Costa Rica at New Delhi. Professor Anil Gupta, a senior academician and Head of Division – ECDRM at the National Institute of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Aprit Chaturvedi, CEO of Global Policy Insight, a policy think tank organisation, and Mr. Gaurav Gupta, MD of Desire Energy Solutions spoke on the occasion as the resource persons.

IIT Roorkee is organizing an “Indo-German Partnership Workshop” with the theme of Bridging Horizons: Indo-German Scientific Collaboration at IIT Roorkee on Oct. 13, 2023, at its Greater Noida Extension Center (GNEC).

The workshop, which is supported by the Co-PREPARE project (https://ir.iitr.ac.in/COPREPARE/), will see the participation from- DAAD (New Delhi), Dept of Science & Technology (DST)-MoST, and Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) along with several German Universities namely- Uni of Potsdam, Uni of Gottingen, FU Berlin and Uni of Cologne.
