Devyn looked at her and he gave a soft sigh. “Yes and I’m sorry you can’t have any kids. But I’m sure if you could you’d make a wonderful mother.” He said as he gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

The gesture felt so kind and sincere; Cheryl couldn’t help but lean her shoulder into his hand. She smiled at him sadly. “Guess we’ll never know,” she chuckled dryly. “My husband divorced me a few years ago.”

“Yes perfect.” He sajd as he looked at her and he gave a smile. “Plus more colors for Bella and us.” He sajd as he put on an old apron and he handed one to Cheryl.

“Of course, we have to wear aprons so we don’t get the paints on our nice clothes! Right, Bella?” She smiled at the child as she tied the apron around her waist. “Why don’t you two get started painting, you’ve got the brushes and the paints, I’ll bring you a cup of water to rinse the brushes. Oh, and who wants some hot chocolate?”

Cheryl was sitting on a park bench reading a book when a young man suddenly asked for the time. “Oh, goodness, no, you don’t want to be late for that!” she sympathized, pushing back her sleeve and glancing at her watch. “It’s 12:30 pm, young man. I’m Cheryl, by the way. Cheryl Kingsbury.” @iivgnis
