I've been sick for the past 3, and it's been the worst thing I've experienced in a while. I have an impacted wisdom tooth, and apparently it's infected, and of course with it falling on the weekend there has been no one I could see to help me. Talk about painful. However, through this uncomfortable, and at times excruciating experience, I've gotten to see a brave side of love. Travis' has been a hero to say the least. For the past two nights he has not left my side. The first night, I woke up in so much pain and in tears and he just looked so helpless. And with not much he could do, he just held me tight and prayed under his breath until I eventually fell asleep. Yesterday, I was pretty doped up on medicine. And not realizing I had not eaten anything, I began to feel dizzy and faint immediately in the middle of target. So he held on tight to me, sat me down and got me oatmeal, and banana bread and coffee. And he just talked to me. When we got to his parents house his momma told me to just go into my room and rest and not worry about anything else. And he followed right along. With books, and movies, and a loving heart. I fell asleep, and he read his books right next to me. When I woke up still in excruciating pain, he went up and down the stairs every 10 minutes in between grabbing ice and heating up heating pads. He was so willing, and so caring, and so gentle. And he saw restlessness in my eyes, and he said "I'll try my best to bore you so you can get some rest". So he played a game, and I watched him. And we laughed together and he went on to say how adorable he thinks I am with swollen cheeks and sleepy eyes. And he prayed with me with fervent faith, and He knew that Jesus was and is still in control. and he reminded me to not fear, and to remember who our Healer is. And again, he sat right next to me as I tried to fall asleep. And he played all the songs we loved together before we loved each other. And he ran his fingers through my hair, and his fingertips lightly on my arm because he knows it sends me right into slumber. And so I slipped away, and came back up with a smile on my face with each new song that came on because I felt his loving eyes looking at my sleepy soul. He was so tired, but I knew he didn't want to fall asleep because he wanted to make sure nothing would happen to me. And for a moment my sleepy mind and sleepy heart full of love realized that if life ended, loving him is the greatest thing I have ever done. And that has never been so real.
