THE  KRYPTONIAN  CANNOT  HELP  BUT  TO  SMIRK  BACK.  amusement  spread  upon  features,  blue  eyes  setting  back  on  the  man  before  him  and  the  comment  speaks  with  ease.  “is  that  a  threat  or  a  promise?  ”  the  man  who  flew  too  close  to  the  sun  and  the  man  who  uses  the  sun  to  power  himself,  seems  inevitable  that  there  is  a  drawing  between  the  two  and  clark  is  both  fascinated  and  amused  at  the  thought.  “maybe  I  will  ruin  you.”  he  points  out,  knowing  well  that  at  least  with  the  eternal,  clark  doesn’t  have  to  hold  back  on  his  punches,  if  anything,  it  seems  ikaris  wants  him  to  go  further,  in  all  senses  of  the  word.  durability  and  strength  to  be  tested  and  he  wonders  if  the  other  is  as  warm  as  he  is  due  to  the  sun  itself.

            yelena had convinced ikaris to keep her company as she watched movies; it was something that comforted her deeply and had become a weekly occurrence for the pair. midway through the night, and half way through wall.e. yelena had curled against ikaris’ side, her eyes feeling heavy as his warmth soothed her, and she soon enough fell asleep against his side. usually she was a very light sleeper, but around ikaris she felt safe enough to actually fall into deep sleep, which her body was thankful for. she hadn’t felt the man pick her up from the couch and quietly make his way to her bedroom, before placing her on her bed.

            she shivered a little at the loss of his warmth, her eyes opening a little as she leant up on her elbow, her hand reaching out him as he made his way out of her her room, making a small displeased noise in an attempt to get the man to come back to bed. ‘ cuddle me until i fall asleep? ’ her voice was gravelly as she questioned, a small pout forming at her lips.

        yelena scowled at the burly man before her, he was still grumbling about something to do with manners, yelena had accidentally bumped into him and it had sent the man on a downward spiral. getting in her face, he thought he could really intimidate yelena, but she stood there with a disinterested look upon her face and let him have his tantrum, a hand twitched next to the knife that was concealed in her pocket a small voice warned her not to. raising her hands she apologised to the man, to which seemed to have made him angrier, alcohol + anger = problems, and she didn’t have time for that. the woman hadn’t noticed her company as she seperated herself from the situation. 

        huffing out a laugh yelena’s gaze moved from the man in question to ikaris beside her, shaking her head she gently took a hold of his arm and pulled the eternal in the opposite direction. ‘ as cool as it would be to see you disintegrate that man, it is not the correct thing to do right now. ’ she spoke quietly. ‘ i would rather hurt him myself, honestly. i don’t think he’d have the same attitude with my knives at his throat. ’ she shrugs her shoulders, glancing one more time at the man behind them, shooting him a death glare. ‘ the widow in me wants to track him and then make him pay, but i’m trying to be better than that. ’ she sighs, before mumbling under her breath. ‘ even if he does deserve it. ’

                        “ it’s fine. ”

the words leaves through her BLOODIED lip. her eyes cast downwards with her hands stuffed inside her pockets. meeting his gaze is too hard, she feels weak and foolish for getting caught out this way - she’s a WARRIOR and yet she didn’t see a punch coming?

                       “ just some guys. it’s fine ikaris. leave it. ” she murmurs even if she knows it’s impossible. there’s no WAY that he’d leave it be. but she might as well try, wiping away the blood with her sleeve, nose  w r i n k l i n g  as it stings the wound.

sprite’s breaths come thick and fast, hard to catch and hard to use. immortality only goes so far in an eternal; can only conquer age and time. not bullets. bullets can tear through a person and being immune to the passage of time will do nothing to halt the process of  BLEEDING OUT  on the dusty ground. as done with this stage of life as she is... sprite is not ready for it to end entirely. 

                       and she hates the tears that are pooling in her eyes, rimming them red and making them puffy. hates the fact that the second the adrenaline of the fight left her body, she BROKE. 

fast nods as a comforting voice appears, the one who   d i s i n t e g r a t e d   that bullet moments before it disintegrated her future. ikaris would never let her die. she’d never let him in return and her mouth goes to move, to whisper his name between the sobs that she HATES are coming from her but as she tries, she meets his eyes and the name is lost into the aether. SOMEHOW she crumbles further into herself.
