I don't know if any of you have ever watched InuYasha, but hear me out on this one......

Silvio is Sesshomaru, Rio is InuYasha, Emma is Kagome(/Rin), and Carlo is Jaken. 👀

It just makes too much sense when you think about it. Inu no Taisho (their dad) had a sort of political thing with Sesshomaru's mother, then had him. Later comes Izayoi (InuYasha's mom), who he adores, and they both love and spoil InuYasha as much as they can. Izayoi constantly gets shit for getting with a demon and having a half-demon baby, vice versa with Inu no Taisho. And iirc, similar to Silvio & Emidio's mother, the guy (human) who coveted Izayoi her basically pulled an "if I can't have her, no one will".*

Both of them had it rough with their relationship, much like Rio's mother and the King. Sesshomaru, like Silvio, was not as cared for, nor really from a loving family. Rio was the one who was favored, who the King hoped to maybe give the throne to.. like InuYasha inheriting his father's sword that Sesshomaru always coveted.

And though Sesshomaru wasn't exactly a hero, he did have his moments, including when he saved Rin. Sesshomaru gains some semblance of "humanity" by sparing/saving someone, much like Silvio being seen as less of a "beast" when he does the same, namely when coming to trust Emma.

Silvio may come off as harsh and bold, but is actually secretly nice, even though he resents what he's been through and is jealous of Rio. He secretly hired guards under a fake name to keep Rio and his mother safe from his horrible mother and brother (Emidio). But at the same time, still bullied Rio and tried to take the things he liked. It was partly to try and get him to toughen up, sure, but he still helped traumatize him when they were kids. (Things are better now, thankfully).

But again, Silvio has his moments, and you could consider the people he's saved or come to care for as his "Rin" of sorts, his money like a Tenseiga (healing sword). Rio also has to learn to toughen up, especially after what happens to his mother, in order to protect the people he loves. Emma is scared and afraid at first, but eventually grows stronger through her circumstances, and has a "purifying" effect thanks to her "pure heart" as Belle.. similar to Kagome's abilities. (Also, her being similar to Jin's mother as Belle could be a loose parallel to the Kikto -> Kagome reincarnation.)

InuYasha has to learn to wield the weapons he's earned and strength he's been given, being far younger and less experienced, more shunned. Then there's Sesshomaru, much older and experienced, having had to take care of himself for much longer, much lonelier. Parallels to Rio still growing into his own after hiding in the shadows for so long in the court, while Silvio's been fighting to make a name for himself from a very young age.

Carlo stands steadfast by Silvio's side, but is always shaking in his boots, much like Sesshomaru's companion Jaken. Sesshomaru is incredibly powerful and nearly unmatched, much like how Silvio is incredibly powerful, wealthy, intelligent, and physically strong. And yet, when in his route he starts to care for Emma, before he even knows it, he comes rushing to save her amidst threats of harm, amidst kidnapping, amidst being branded traitors to both of their home nations.

Both of them may have grown to tolerate one another, or even grown to begrudgingly trust one another thanks to their less-than-ideal upbringings.. but they're both incredibly loyal, smart, and protect with a ferocity unparalleled.

PS: Does this mean Akatsuki is the stern paternal role... like Kagome's grandfather..?

PSS: Relationship-wise I think Rio is more like Koga, but backstory is way closer to InuYasha

*(That or some big fire just happened to try and take out InuYasha/Inu no Taisho, but I might be misrembering aspects of that scene. My apologies for any incorrections.)

jokingly pspspsps'd at my phone and said "istg if i don't get one of those dogs today" ..... then rio immediately showed up on a single pull. about 11 hoarded gacha tickets later, silvio actually decided to show up for once... think he saw me cooing over rio a bunch & got jealous enough to run home. love em both dearly so im absolutely over the moon rn. didn't aim for any of the anniv cards til now, so freakin happy 😭
