Christmas with a Prince (2018)
I truly didn't know which tropes to expect in this based on the description, but it wasn't what I got, that's for sure.
Dr. Tasha Mason (Kaitlyn Leeb) is the very young and attractive head of her pediatric oncology ward (which I didn't think was a thing outside of children's hospitals?). The head nurse happens to be her half-brother Jeff (Josh Dean). Tasha and Jeff went to boarding school back in the day, and one of Jeff's best friends from school is the crown prince of St. Savarre, Alexander (Nick Hounslow). Alex injures himself in a skiing accident, and King Edward (Charles Shaughnessy) requests that Prince Alex have some privacy during his hospital stay. Tasha doesn't want Alex in her care because she's bitter about him turning her down for a date 6 years ago, but she is in deep denial that that's the reason she hates him. Jeff goes over her head and convinces the Chief of Medicine Dr. Gonzalez (Lanette Ware) that caring for the prince is good for the hospital.
Once Prince Alex is situated at the hospital, his security team annoys Tasha. His handler, Bella (Melinda Shankar), has a nice flirtationship with Jeff. A couple of the kids who stay in the ward full-time for treatments, Ben (Liam MacDonald) and Amber (Ilamaria Ebrahim), spend time around Prince Alex, which gives him a chance to show Tasha that he's a good guy. He also gives outlandish gifts because what else would a prince do.
There is some drama related to King Edward and Princess Miranda (Anastasia Marinina), which is all very forced and not very believable. I mean, even more than the rest of the plot, which is still pretty forced.
Like it wasn't cringey and Prince Alexander is hot af, so I wouldn't call it a total waste of time. Overall, I give it 3 stars.
