notes on my iron lung au zenitsu because he's itching to get free from his holding cell

he grew up on the tow ship along with his grandfather, he got to see first hand the cruelties of the world around them. saw prisoners being brought in, seeing how they were treated and even though they did crimes he never once thought that they deserved to be taken down into the depths of the blood ocean

he had been there to see the death of his own grandfather in an experiment gone wrong. setting up one of the iron lungs with a machine to be able to scan through the blood of the ocean there was an explosion and its shrapnel had sliced through jigoro's stomach, spilling his blood and organs all over the ships floor.

in that same explosion, he got shot with radiation, and over the years after jigoro's death the radiation has become to take it's told and it's starting to get closer and closer to his heart.

he misses his grandfather more than anything, he misses the music that he use to play for them when it got too quiet on the ship at night. he misses sharing meals with him, he will look over at the empty bed that he has in his quarters from time to time and wish that he was still here with him.
