*patches up my wall with gum and tape* GODDAMMIT RENYA
4. how would they cope with 24 hours alone?
Very well. She feels most comfortable alone. But work takes up most of her time, and doesn’t give her much opportunity to be alone. If she had 24 hours away from everyone, she’d use the time to just lie down and close her eyes, or brush up on her language studies (a hobby), or make herself something nice to eat.
5. how do they react to injuries?
“‘Tis a flesh wound.”
“YOUR GUTS ARE FALLING OUT.”
“A deep flesh wound.”
6. in what ways are they most like you?
Very emotionally constipated. (help)
12. what’s a habit they have that they hate? - answered!
18. what is the best picture(s) to describe their aesthetic?
23. what do they fear losing the most?
Her loved ones, and the power to protect them.
My gut instinct was to say her freedom, but Ves would put a slave collar on her own neck if it meant her loved ones were safe.
25. how do they feel about where they are at in life?
As of Onslaught, she feels lost. Everything up to this point has been good - she has officially left the Empire, married Lana, and wields a considerable amount of knowledge, power, and influence to remain untouchable for the time being. But all that she’s done so far has been in the name of survival, a desperate scramble to hoard power and wealth to attain invulnerability. Now that she’s reached a point she’d dreamt of, with the freedom to choose her own path...she doesn’t know what to do with herself. She doesn’t even know who she really is, outside of the power struggle.
1. what does their favourite colour say about them?
Her favourite colour is silver and I have no idea what it means!!!!!! She just likes it cos it’s pretty!!
4. how would they cope with 24 hours alone?
She’ll be okay, honestly. Deep down, she really needs it cos she tends to push herself beyond reasonable limits in the line of duty. Give her some time alone and she’ll probably drop like a rock and start sleeping. Or go collect more cats. Whichever mood strikes her.
7. in what ways are they least like you?
She’s a military general, at peak physical form, can plan and fight a war. and she’s hella hot like omfg the ears
8. what line of dialogue best displays their sense of humour?
"I might…need a healer," Sielaire says, before collapsing onto Ayrenn.
(She’s pretty serious by nature, so her humour mostly slips out when she’s under duress and her mind’s gone a little wonky.)
13. what quality do they admire most in others?
Confidence and an undying drive to achieve their goals. A sense of direction in their lives, basically.
17. what are 5 words to describe their personality?
Composed, quiet, intense, brave, loyal.
22. what would other people say they are obsessed with? - answered!
24. what was their worst ever injury?
During the Cyrodiil campaign, when Sie refused to be removed from the frontlines after escaping captivity, the Dominion forces had an encounter with Molag Bal’s Daedra. A titan nearly shredded clean through her abdomen. Her soldiers managed to drag her to safety and heal her, but the injury left her in a bedroll for two weeks. She carries an ugly scar that spans the length of her stomach.
3. what is their sexuality?
Demisexual.
11. how do they handle intense pressure?
Gracefully. She’ll have a smile on her face no matter what - projecting an aura of confidence is important in her role as ambassador. The more intense the pressure, the harder she’ll work to resolve the situation, but her graceful manner will never waver.
14. what quality do they dislike in others?
Prejudice and an unwillingness to learn. It’s part of the reason she became an ambassador. She is well-aware of her people’s bias against other races, and left the islands to find out why. When she realised the Altmer’s beliefs are unfounded, and others carried similiar bias against her own people, she wanted to bridge the gap between Summerset and the rest of Tamriel. If she can’t stop the war, then she will plant the seeds of a better, peaceful future.
17. what are 5 words to describe their personality?
19. what other character in your WIP is mostly likely to make them laugh and how would they do it?
Either Ayrenn or Raz, most likely. Both have a good sense of humour, and are rogueish enough that they’re still able to surprise her in a good way. They probably have a library’s worth of tales from their pre-Summerset days to entertain Ilen for months.
23. what do they fear losing the most?
Losing all the progress her diplomatic efforts have made. It would make her feel as if she’d spent her life in futility.
(*eyes Tamriel’s canon future from ESO onwards* ...I’m so sorry Ilen honey.)
25. how do they feel about where they are at in life?
Pretty good! In my fic’s world state, the Dominion has won the war and is starting to send diplomatic missions to the rest of Tamriel for reconciliation and reparation efforts. Ilen’s one of the Dominion representatives spearheading the campaign, and is basically living her best life traveling the length of Tamriel, making allies and friends.
Alwinarwe tries and fails to stifle a sigh, setting her empty glass of wine on the rich cloth of the picnic mat. She rises to her feet, feeling her knees creak in faint protest after spending an hour cross-legged on the ground. Straightening her dress, Alwin strolls over to her companion, who is still absorbed in painting, forehead creased in a frown.
Ilensariel had coaxed her out for a picnic under the moonlight, and though Alwin isn’t one for spending too much idle time in such a...natural environment, she’d agreed. How can she ever deny what her heart wants?
So the ambassador had led Alwinarwe from her private estate, heading south towards a clearing by a small lake. They shared a modest supper, before Ilen propped a blank canvas on the easel she’d lugged along, and grew utterly engrossed in painting the view before them. Not that Alwin had a complaint - had. Now, though, after spending four hours reading a novel by candlelight, and shaking away torchbugs which landed on her hair and book, Alwin believes she’s had her fill of ‘oh sweet, gentle nature’ - as Ilen described it.
She goes to stand behind Ilen, who laughs softly. “I’ll be done soon, love.”
“I can tell,” Alwin replies, eyeing the painting which Ilen had finished with surprising speed. Such elegant brush strokes and delicate shading - it’s as if Alwin is gazing upon the very sight itself. Such work is no small feat; no wonder Ilen had worn such focus for the past few hours. “It is quite breathtaking.”
“Thank you,” Ilen says, then makes Alwin’s brow rise when she offers the paintbrush. “Hold this.”
Alwin takes the brush without thought, then stutters when Ilen’s fingers close over hers, bringing her towards the canvas. “I can’t paint very well.”
Ilen merely hums, guiding her to fill in the silvery face of the moon, and its reflection in the lake beneath. Alwin’s cheeks bloom with warmth when Ilen looks at her, a soft and teasing smile on her lips.
