Life After||Asuka Goro
There was no way Hayakawa would have prepared himself for this. So much time he’d spent having finished the suit as much as he could. So much time spent traveling seeking out the killer of the man he called best friend. He was expecting to simply continue onto the next gang after cleaning up the streets of the last town.
Like always.
He was expecting keep following the trail of bread crumbs leading to whatever that red ‘D’ on their chests represented. Really, that was a side investigation. One he was working alongside his main case of finding Asuka’s killer. The man who laughed as Hayakawa watched him fall, bloodied and dying in his arms.
Except...
“Asuka.” It was barely more audible than a whisper. His eyes widened and his chest tightened as he looked at the man before him. He looked the same as he did the day that started it all. Hayakawa blinked once, then twice as if trying to clear his vision. He repeated the name, a bit stronger this time. “Asuka. You,” his voice caught in his throat.
This had to be a trick. Too good to be true. Memories of the hospital bombing flooded his memory. The promise to fight together that could never come true. Watching the light fade from Asuka’s eyes. Seeing the man before him couldn’t be real. “You can’t be.”
