Zizhen was about to drop his towel to slip on a pair of boxers, when a gasp had him turning around. There, standing in the doorway with red cheeks and wide eyes was Jin Ling. Zizhen would have thought everything the two of them had done together would have meant his girlfriend wouldn’t be flustered by seeing him in a towel, yet it warmed Zizhen that she still got flustered - not that Zizhen would have been much better if he walked in, and she was wearing just a towel, but sometimes he liked to pretend he could handle it. He pulled himself up, so he was sitting on the dresser, and held his hands out to Jin Ling.
“Why so flustered, love?” he asked, unable to help the tease that leaked into his voice. She was just too cute when she got flustered because Jin Ling would then often pout or she’d try and deny that she was flustered. He cupped her cheek when she approached, and he smiled up at her. “It’s just me.”

"Oh, that sucks," Zizhen said, trying to hide the want to giggle at man flu. He didn't want Jin Ling to think he was teasing him as that wasn't the goal. It was just the phrase he used that was funny. "Are you feeling better?"
He reached a hand out to put on Jin Ling's forehead, wanting to make sure his friend was okay. It wouldn't do any good to have Jin Ling pushing himself with any lingering sickness. "Your forehead feels warm. Let me get you something."

Zizhen likes to wrap around Jin Ling. He can become a real octopus if given the chance. He likes to lay his head on Jin Ling's shoulder or chest as he says it's very comfortable. Sometimes, Jin Ling doesn't want anyone wrapped around him, which makes Zizhen pout a little but respects the boundary. On those days, Zizhen lies back to back with Jin Ling and wraps his octopus arms around a pillow. There had been a few mornings after such nights where Zizhen wakes up being the one all wrapped up by Jin Ling's octopus arms. Those mornings, Zizhen dozes for a bit, enjoying the feeling of Jin Ling wrapped around him.

Zizhen, due to all the romance books he's read, is a little convinced that he would know the exact moment he fell in love. He's half right as he distinctly remembers when he looked at Jin Ling and went 'oh.' The two of them were having a quiet moment together, and Zizhen told the objectively worst joke (he's not even sure it should be counted as one) and Jin Ling laughed like it was the funniest thing anyone has ever said. There was an 'oh' moment there; however, it still took Zizhen a while after to realize that he had fallen in love. When he realizes that that 'oh' moment was him falling in love, he does lay with his face in his pillow for a moment because how did it take him a week to realize?

Instead, he's already fallen in love by the time he realizes that the warmth and happiness and need to be close that he's feeling are parts of the love he has for Lan Sizhui. Zizhen would realize in a quiet moment. Maybe Lan Sizhui smiled wider, maybe he leaned so their shoulders touched, maybe he was even just sitting next to Zizhen. Whatever the exact moment, Zizhen looked at Lan Sizhui and went 'oh' as he realized he had fallen in love without even fully realizing it.
