Normally he’d have thought things through, normally he wouldn’t have jumped in blindly. But then again, normally he wasn’t protecting such a young child. His class was one thing, but they could at least defend themselves against something like this. Eri? No, she couldn’t yet. Feeling the blade pierce his skin, a hiss left him as he fell over. That, was a lot worse than he’d been expecting. He was about to force himself to get back up to apprehend the villain, but stopped when Eri knelt beside him.
Wait, what was she- Oh. Oh. “Eri-”
Waiting until his side was healed, his hair soon flew up afterwards. Any other time he might have waited to see if she’d stop on her own, but now wasn’t a good time. Before anything could be said, he was already on the villain, making swift work of the idiot who’d tried to hurt the girl. Once that was done and they were tied up in his scarf, he turned back and knelt next to Eri.
“Sorry you had to see that,” he started, voice quiet, referring to him having gotten hurt. “Are you alright?”
