Illusory Gains (Dragons of Tarkir) - Kev Walker
What happens when a creature with exploit (say, Sidisi, Undead Vizier) changes controllers with its exploit on the stack?
The player under whose control the exploit creature entered the battlefield still controls the exploit trigger and makes the choice of whether or not to sacrifice a creature when that trigger resolves. If they do sacrifice a creature, then the exploit creature’s “when ~ exploits a creature” trigger will trigger and that trigger will be controlled by whoever controls the creature at that time.
So if, for example, Illusory Gains gives your opponent control of your Sidisi before her exploit trigger resolves, you can still sacrifice another creature when the trigger resolves if you want to, but if you do it’s your opponent who’ll get to search their library for a card because of Sidisi’s second trigger.
Let's say I have Illusory Gains attached to a creature and I also have some creature sacrifice outlet. My opponent casts a creature and it triggers the Gains ability. Can I sacrifice the creature that Gains is enchanting with the Gains trigger on the stack to still steal the new creature?
No.
There’s no way to sacrifice the creature and still get the new one. Illusory Gains will be enchanting nothing and go to the graveyard in the interim.
This question is about Illusionary Gains. If you have two Illusionary Gains on the battlefield and someone plays a creature does that cause an infinite loop as once the aura leaves their creature and attaches to the other one your other illusionary gains attaches to it and causes a loop. how would this resolve?
No.
Illusory Gains triggers on a creature entering the battlefield, and the creature only enters the battlefield once.
A creature that changes controllers isn’t leaving the battlefield.
