Did you know that this character was born from the darkness the artist felt during the start of last year's lockdown? -⁣ ⁣ "Amilcare.⁣ Lonely and melancholic. Elegant and dreamer.⁣ He loves classical music and reading, especially heavy fairytale tomes in indecipherable languages, in front of the fireplace, with fine luxury tea, to accompany his empty time.⁣ His broken horn inexplicably produces leaves and gloomy eye flowers. Amilcare can't stand them, but those are the only friends he has, in his great mansion. I love it when artists create their own original characters, who appear again and again throughout the artist's portfolio. One such being is the mysterious warrior Fanhir Nives Kal'ehr, created by @illusorya. Illusorya has depicted Fanhir in many difficult situations, from physical to mental battles, many of which share the artist's own personal struggles. It's a fascinating series to follow! "Skadegamutc - New Era Ghost Witch" "A Skadegamutc, or ghost-witch, is an undead monster of the Wabanaki tribes. Usually a skadegamutc is said to have been created upon the death of an evil magician who refuses to stay dead. Instead they come to life at night to kill, eat, and throw curses at any unlucky humans who come across them. "This painting is dedicated and inspired by the racism massacre at Rosewood in 1923. I feel a lot about this theme and hope to give it justice. The "smile" detail in her face and the golden rope around her neck stands for the damaging "toxic positivity" message going around.
