Small emperor moth Saturnia pavonia - male

Found in moorlands across the Palearctic regions, the small emperor moth is the only saturniid to be found on the British Isles.

Bedstraw hawk-moth hylles gallii

This species is similar to the spurge hawk-moth hyles euphorbiaea, however, in H. gallii the olive colored band on the forewings is not interrupted and the red on the hind wings is less extensive.
