“Hold on hold on!”
You can hear Mark’s mirth getting louder as he steps towards the door clumsily from the other side. With just a swift swing, he appears with a party hat sitting securely on his head.
The boy widens his eyes upon your unexpected presence and for a moment, his hand quickly tries to pull the paper cone off, suddenly feeling a tad embarrassed for someone who’s now twenty-one to be keeping such custom.
You quirk your eyebrows at him in amusement to see your boyfriend attempting to appear cool in front of you. Yet he quickly dismisses it after the first failed attempt because there’s clearly something way more important.
“Holy crap– you came!”
“Of course! It’s your birth— ooft.” He engulfs you into a tight embrace before even letting you finish, not noticing the huge watermelon you’ve been hugging – now between the two of you.
“But man! I haven’t seen you in forever!” He exaggerates, pulling you into the dorm and kicks the door close with his foot.
You roll your eyes but soon frown because it’s true. “I know...we’ve been so busy. I missed you..” Sighing, you tilt your head up to peck his cheek and though his initial reaction was to scrunch up his nose – like he always does, Mark melts under your affection and cups your face to give you a proper kiss. The two of you still standing by the shoe rack in the narrow entrance.
“Y/n!”
You both pull away abruptly and you look over his shoulders to see everyone already gathered in the brightly lit, decorated living room. You wave at them with a grin on your lips as they hurry you to come over, making you raise your brows but you oblige anyway.
“Happy birthday, Babe.” Passing the summer fruit to your boyfriend who beams and takes it with care – as if it was a baby, before he heads in the other direction towards the kitchen.
“What present did you get Mark?” Before you can even question Hyuck’s inquiry, Johnny quickly explains,
“Yuta wouldn’t shut up about his one being the best among ours.” You share a look with Taeyong who only shakes his head in return, unfazed to the whole commotion.
“But of course! Now that you’re here—“
“I got him a watermelon.”
You interject and laugh to see everyone’s reaction.
“He loves it though.” You shrug, turning back to see Mark standing in the kitchen, his party hat now tilting to one side as he holds half a watermelon with one hand, a spoon in the other hand.
“Sooo much!”
