@reena-jenkins has been making podfics for TEN YEARS
I found out that @reena-jenkins’ 10 YEAR PODFICVERSARY has been on the 12th! Which is honestly mindblowing! There are currently 1627 works in 336 Fandoms posted on her AO3 page. I have only listened to a small percentage of those, and every one of them has been done very well and been a joy to listen to. I must admit that I haven’t managed to comment on all of them – Reena’s podfics have often helped me through bad days, and on those I mostly don’t feel up to communication in whichever form.
I wanted to let you know, though, Reena: Your work is greatly appreciated. I am very thankful for each one of the podfics you recorded that I could listen to when I didn’t feel up to anything else. You’re very good at what you do and I really want to thank you for an incredible TEN YEARS of creating and sharing wonderful podfics with the world! I really wanted to gift something to @reena-jenkins for this accomplishment, but since I’m just a stranger on the internet, I had no idea what would get across how much her work means to me. Since it’s a little difficult to choose between 336 Fandoms, I didn’t even have an idea for some art.
The incredible and awesome @aceoftigers had a few wonderful suggestions, though. Why not something about the podficcing itself? The platypus is apparently the mascot of podficcers, so it had to be a platypus.
HAPPY 10th PODFICVERSARY, REENA! This is for you.
I hope it conveys how much you are appreciated. I honestly can’t choose which of your podfics are my favorites, so I’m just going to tag two of those I enjoyed most and tell everyone to CHECK OUT REENA on AO3! It’s worth it!
”A hard curl of satisfaction” and “Your 21st-century boy” are two of my favorites of Reena’s works, and I definitely recommend listening to either (or one of her other 6125 works)
For everyone who has enjoyed Reena’s work over the years, please feel free to chime in and let her know what you love about her and her work! Rec your favorites! Send virtual hugs! Whatever you can think of to celebrate her podficversary, give her back some of the joy she brought to us over the years, just let her know.
