Iloveseverus is always true but I think maybe he perpetuates negative male ideals in my life. And hey, I graduated med school. I am an M.D. even if it's going to take a lifetime for me to feel like a doctor.

New follower here. I love your Dean/Luke parallel gifset! I think their double date and discussion about how both of the guys are stuck in Stars Hollow and the girls want more is super relevant. Dean is definitely more Rory's Luke than Jess was.

Hi and welcome! I agree that these scenes are relevant, however, I do think LL&RJ share enough similarities too.

personal feelings about it under the cut

None of these things are objectively “bad“ but I do hate all of them:

- They both are grumpy (or maybe “gloomy” in Jess’ case) loners, that can be very rude and unpleasant to the average person.

- It requires Rory and Lorelai to be the more bright, positive and outgoing person in the relationship. I think realistically, even for Lorelai whose naturally all of those things, that would be draining.

- Both ships relay heavily on the “She’s in denial“ assumption (though it was more balanced between RJ in early years), wanting her to finally come aroundafter years and realize he’s the one. The longer you can be “in denial” over your feelings to someone, the more I find it hard to believe these feelings has any great potency at all. This is why Lorelai’s eventual feelings for Luke rings false to me, and why, if it were to happen, I wouldn’t buy Rory’s feelings for Jess in current time.

- And more than that - Luke and Jess gets to cling to their initial feelings through the series (keeping the horoscope, “I knew [we’re supposed to be together] the first time I saw you two years ago”), while Lorelai’s and Rory’s needs to be changed/swayed. And while I like stories where people are allowed to change their mind and not be punished for that, in this case, it’s a shipping narrative that isn’t told predominantly through their eyes (the first time that we see Lorelai kissing anyone it’s through Luke’s sad face, the last time that we can see any of Rory’s boyfriends it’s Jess’ one-sided gaze). So coupled with the imbalance I mentioned, pairing them up together feels easy, convenient and predictable.

P.S. I’m in no way saying people that aren’t happy, open and positive don’t deserve love, or stories. I understand finding it hard to interact with people, or preferring to be left alone. I’m like that too, so if anything, it should theoretically make them more accessible to me, but RJ&LL are constructed in a way that annoys me so much I can’t ever relate.

1) Favorite music?

Alternative rock, techno as in the XX type of music and I actually kind of like Calvin Harris-ish stuff, and just music with nice beats and rhythm. Oh, and I really like slow acoustic songs... but I do NOT like country... sorrynotsorry 

2) Five things that make you happy:

Music, movies, dancing around in the house in nothing but an oversized t-shirt or with my friends, my family, chocolate.

3) Favorite weather:

Depends where I am, I guess. I love it when there's a cool breeze and lazy sunlight or when I'm inside with rain pouring super hard and sweater weather playing in the background.

4) Do you want kids? If so, how many?

Yup, I love kids. I think two is good for me...

5) What do you want to be when you “grow up?”

LAWLZ. Rich. Successful. Living happy and free. I just want to be someone who people can turn to when they need it and someone who can brighten up people's gloomy days. I guess I just want to grow up and have my own reason to smile.

6) Tell me about your best friend.

Me and my two best friends created our own group called the chocolateers in sixth grade. They're both crazy, wild and the most beautiful people alive. Except for Sujata, cause her teeth are messed up ;) Sujata is a carefree dreamer obsessed with Tumblr boys and one direction but she shows me how to let myself go and that it's ok to laugh really loud. And she sneaks me nutella. Meghna is a little more sane but compassionate and a little like Phoebe from friends. Actually no, Sujata is like both Phoebe and Joey, and Meghna is like Phoebe, Rachel and Chandler put together.

7) What would your ideal soul mate be like?

My perspective changes practically every single day but I feel like the ideal man for me is a man with an open mind and an open heart. He can be wild but he should to be able to sit down and make you a cup of coffee to talk over, too. He should be intelligent, preferably tall, and someone who doesn't believe in relationships but connections and love which can stand on its own. A man with a deep soul who can dream and be practical at the same time. Be the free flying wind going in what ever direction he chooses but also be a rock. A passion for travelling but also for staying on the couch with me. And many bonus points for being talented in any kind of visual arts -- dancing, singing, acting, even drawing. Someone who can make me smile and someone who I can make smile. Someone to take care of and someone to take care of me. And someone who will hold my hand when ever he likes.

8) What’s your favorite tv show and what’s your otp from it?

No. no no no no no. I don't know. I can't choose. Good lord such questions. uh-uh. not even gonna try.

9) Top three movies?

O.O I don't know. I know I like deeper meaning movies and light hearted rom coms (not too cheesy though, or I'll die). I like action movies if they actually, genuinely have a plot. 

10) If you had one day left to live, how would you spend it?

I would spend it at the beach, wearing a bikini because I haven't worn a swimsuit in years, with my closest friends and family from where ever they are in the world and lots and lots of ice cream and chocolate bars scattered around. I would have to have a loud, quality music system and a bonfire and candlelight because there's something so serene about it. I'd kiss someone, too. Preferably Logan Lerman or Nico Mirallegro. 

11) Where do you want to travel to?

Everywhere. Oh my gosh, everywhere. I need to go to Central and South America, the house in Jamaica where my parents used to live, I need to go to Africa and play the drums. I have to trek in Germany and learn to belly dance in the Middle East. Try authentic Chinese food and drink vodka in Russia. And I'd like to jump around with kangaroos or take pictures with "perpetually smashed" koalas. I've got a list containing the entire world.

Lol. Wow! My goldfish have never lived that long. My betta is doing pretty good though. I’ve had him for about 6 months.

 Oh nice! My friend was gonna get me some betas but since it was my first fish ever, she thought they'd be too much work for me lol
