My new found love/Essentials from ILoveTechno/again, but more detailed

Imagine you feel totally exhausted from 2h of continous dancing and showing your love to your 2 favourite DJs, slowly getting sober again after drinking a little bit too much, while at the same time the headache you had to deal with, before you took some pain medication comes out again, not to forget that it is 3 o’clock in the morning. I discovered Pfirter in this state of mind and he and his set was just what I needed at this point. I danced almost through his entire set until 4:30 and I’m pretty sure that he played Fractales. If not, this is one of my favourite tracks and it’s still hard for me to listen to it without dancing. I really want to recommend Pfirter to you. Check him out. He is my ILT14 crush.

Remember, Remember, The 8th of November // I LOVE TECHNO

Hey, last Saturday I went to I Love Techno in Gent. It was my 5th time in a row I went to the festival. The first time I was only 16 years old and I felt way too young for the festival because ILT isn’t a party like the other parties. NO I Love Techno has become one of the biggest indoor parties in Europe. The festival was always sold out and with a capacity of 36000 people it is huge. But I Love Techno has a problem… a BIG problem. Since 2010 they started with other genres than Techno. The line-up was still a techno line-up but there were also dubstep & drum & bass acts because those days techno wasn’t that popular anymore and genres like dubstep & drum n bass were the shit. I really believe that I Love Techno died that year. A lot of the diehard Techno fans didn’t show up that year and they also didn’t come to the next editions. So in 2012 I Love Techno wasn’t sold out for the first time since 2000. In 2013 ILT sold 28000 tickets instead of the 36000 tickets the past years. This was the result of the mismanagement. But this year I Love Techno went back to the roots with a line-up with only Techno. The big acts like Paul Kalkbrenner, Jeff Mils, Dave Clarke and Len Faki but also the new techno acts like Happa & Ten Walls were on the line-up. So everybody thought this year would be a sold-out  edition again. Nothing was less true because they only sold 25000 tickets. But I have always loved the festival because I grew up with it. My dad organized the festival with Peter De Cuypere from 1995 till 2002 so every year I heard the big stories about I Love Techno.  Moreover I live in Sint-Denijs Westrem and Flanders Expo is located in Sint-Denijs Westrem. So I can go to the festival on foot. Normally Techno isn’t my favorite genre of music but every year on a Saturday night in November I’m a big techno fan and I go absolutely mental that night. Partying from 8PM till 6AM. Remember Remember, the 8th of November…
