Selfish creatures tearing flesh from spine with no consideration for the person they tortured with immense suffering. Always she had been there. Desired skin-to-kin contacts as fingertips ghosted across cheekbones and stubble. The years had done him wrong, took a boy by his throat and ripped a sacrificial lamb from his ribcage. Blood for blood. Blood for peace. Blood for light. Was it worth it?
Staring into lightning blue hues and she felt sure that perhaps this moment was indeed. To meet between the stars and the suns rays of their afterlife. Oh, how she’d waited for this moment. For his arms to secure her waist and bring them closer in embrace.
