POV: you and gojo on your wedding
He look so tired but still awake bcs of protecting Riko<3 😞😞i love him sm
gojo loves that his sunglasses & blindfold fully cover his eyes bc that way no one can ever tell just how much time he spends staring at you
when gojo meets megumi for the first time, i notice something interesting about the way gojo reacts to megumi's indifference with the news of no longer having parents.
[CH.79, PAGE 3]
the second and second last panel (right to left) shows not only a wide eyed reaction, but a whole panel just to show gojo pausing in what we can pretty much confirm is stark surprise; "are you really a first grader?"
it's only exaggerated further in the anime, too.
[S2, EP.5]
now, why do i find this interesting?
well, we know that hidden inventory is meant to be our first introduction to gojo, and we see what kind of teenager he is in terms of mannerisms, his ideals, and overall personality. he's often times arrogant, overly confident, and definitely very sure of himself; we rarely get insights into what's behind that mask in particular.
rarely, because when we do, it's almost always in relation to geto (and if you want to count his emotional state during his fight with toji, go ahead ig).
my point sits with the fact that, on surface, you may overlook gojo's reaction to megumi because maybe you're also a bit surprised that megumi's mindset is like this at such a young age - but after everything we've watched gojo go through, this reaction (imo) has been formed with newly created purpose.
i mean, fact: we just watched gojo's youth get stripped from him.
[S2, EP.5]
and now, we're meeting a young boy who's reaction to this news is so bizarre, that it's made someone like gojo pause.
not only is it unusual that megumi is taking the news too well, it's also unusual that gojo would openly and willingly break this kind of news to a young child almost uncaringly - a child so much younger than amanai.
gojo clearly has a moment of clarity here.
because every single child/teen that was shown in hidden inventory had their youth taken from them; megumi is no exception, and i believe gojo realises this in this moment.
gojo is often times labelled as uncaring or too flimsy with how he handled himself and those around him during this arc, and i honestly feel that that's a lot of parts unfair to him - it dismisses not only the abnormal way he was brought up, but the loss of the singular support system he had in place that helped guide his moral and emotional judgement (geto).
don't forget, we're following the story of a teenager. he's tall and rambunctious, and goes through a great deal of trauma - even nearly dying - that it's easy to forget in all the chaos, but he's still a teenager. a kid. he's learning and realising things as well.
he deserved the space to grow, realise new things, and most importantly, make mistakes - it goes without saying that this normality was probably the last bit of youth he was able to claim for himself anymore.
gojo learns how to braid hair from geto.
he finds the action calming, smooth strands of hair slipping through his fingers as they sit underneath a tree in the cool, autumn air.
he thinks he’s forgotten how to braid after everything that’s happened, but one day your head is in his lap, his fingers are in your hair, and there is suddenly a multitude of slim plaits scattered throughout the entirety of your hair.
geto taught gojo how to braid but he thinks that it somehow feels easier with you.
thinking about gojo who only takes off the blindfold if it's you removing it because you're so gentle with him and it makes him feel special.
i just got caught up with jjk but now i feel like rereading
hm. i’m seeing a lot of aesthetic lookin masterlists (whateva the heck that is) and just bits of information above the fanfic itself. i think i’ll just... design my own. it’ll take me a few days since my work ethic is bad, BUT i’ll actually look like a professional tumblr writer B) lol god i’m so cringey
