#im thinking..#knights organizing masquerade balls but no one knows who they are#mao attends the ball one day dances with ritsu and loves it so much he keeps coming back and before he knows it hes in love#but plot twist. mao already knows ritsu bc theyre childhood friends (this will Never change in any au i make of them#its essential for their relationship)#mao just doesnt know that the person behind the mask is ritsu#(assume that besides the masks theyre using some kind of magic to make it impossible to know who the masquerade knights are)#(bc otherwise would be unbelieveable that mao doesnt recognize ritsu lol)#but ritsu still knows its mao at the balls and he enjoys those moments so much but he Cant say to mao its actually him#okay theres fic potential here
