also another thing about the boy king/ knight dynamic is that the boy king is always trying to fight back against a predermined destiny (e.g becoming king, being “the chosen one”, being the golden child made for “big things”) and so their journey is about proving they are good enough or worthy of their title OR trying to run in the opposite direction of their destiny.... while the knights future is open for the taking, they don’t have any destiny laid out for them so they’re free to go find it for themselves......... like the boy king has so much privilege over the knight but the one thing they don’t have is the freedom to make their own choices..... the knight wants the boy kings fortune and power but the boy king just wants the knights freedom (achilles and patroclus, harry and ron, arthur and lancelot, neil perry and todd anderson) anyway in this essay i will....
