i rly dont want ot make it sound like i think jean looks down on anyone for being able to kill people or thinks ppl who can do that are bad people. it’s really hard to talk about jean’s feelings wrt killing and his internal conflict about wanting to be good and do what’s right bc it always comes across sounding like he holds other people to the same standards as he holds himself
i definitely don’t think jean thinks of his friends as bad people, or that he thinks anyone who can kill is a bad person. i think he really is harder on himself about that partly because he doesn’t have a very positive view of himself and maybe possibly that he views his own actions as going against what he wants to be but everyone else is simply doing what they have to. like, if he really did feel that killing makes everyone a bad person no matter what, his relationships with a lot of characters would be much different.
im not wording this very well but what i’m really trying to say is jean’s feelings about killing people are more an internal personal thing rather than a moral code that he believes everyone should stick to.
