What’s your favorite thing about writing? What do you enjoy doing the most, the least? What’s something underrated or you wish more people knew about?
My favorite things about writing depend on the day. I really love when I get to a scene I've been planning for a long time, and all the puzzle pieces fall into place to execute it properly. I love being in a flow and the words pour out of me, especially when it comes to naming or describing a complex feeling or innermost emotions of the character (that's why I have really been enjoying Mike these days)
I absolutely hate reading everything back and editing, because I get wayyyy too in my head and then start doubting and questioning everything. I used to be someone who overedited (which I likely need because I am NOT a natural writer at all) but now I've ditched that so I can enjoy the process more. I also hate when I have the time to write but I am in a crappy mood and it's not coming as naturally to me. I was having that struggle this week, but since I took a break yesterday I feel much better and more creatively refreshed.
I wish more people knew like, how much effort it takes? Like I think about this shit a lot and plan a lot of details that go unnoticed (but I still love putting them in an writing with intention, even if no one else sees them) I don't take any of my work lightly, which honestly is an issue. I'm trying to just let go and have more fun with writing.
