Hey! I'd like some advice. I'm better at Bluegrass since I have room to improvise when I cannot actually hit the note. But, I have an audition in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if you had any suggestions of what I may be able to sing. I am 22, senior in college, and I guess I'm a mezzo-alto? i really cannot go very high at all. Any suggestions would be awesome! Thank you.
id do as many vocal exercises as possible to try to expand your upper range. you can find a ton of great ones. I would put down that you are alto because even though theyre the lowest female range, they arent expected to be able to go that much lower than the average talking voice, and if you can pop some higher notes, you’ll look like you have a great extension. bluegrass has a lot of suuper low alto stuff so im guessing you have a low range.
I’d say the most important thing to do before picking an audition song is ti strengthen your voice
