Hey! Would you by any chance know where I can find/purchase sheet music for "Because I am a Wife"? It's a song that was in The Pirate Queen in Chicago but was cut before the musical transferred to Broadway. I've been dying to sing it but can't find the sheets anywhere. :/

youtuber Disney Dan has a video on the various Elsa dress transformations, but the one in the Bway version specifically is apparently the whole thing being yanked down through a trapdoor beneath the stage! It's v subtle but you can definitely see it once you know. Hope that satisfies your curiosity lmao

I just rewatched it a few times. Theres fog over the stage so that would be an easy way to cover that but how is there a trap door? She steps forward RIGHT after so I’m assuming it has to be behind her? they grad the back of the dress and the front just tears away? It’s AMAZING!

I just need to personally remind people that Saff in Tiger King is a trans man and that producers knew this yet used his deadname and wrong pronouns on purpose because the news clips of the accident used “she” for him so they didn’t even try to be respectful

Producers are transphobic and if you know this about Saff and still call him by his deadname, you are too.

sharing for anybody like me, who def got the male vibe from Saff while watching, but did not know this–the film doesn’t mention it at all iirc.  I mean, I’m cishet so it’s not my place to say, i guess, but it doesn’t seem like it would have been all that hard to include at least one sentence explaining and then use the guy’s proper name. (then again I have heard they also left Joe Exotic’s kid completely out, so, there’s that too.)

Saff and the gal from the DA’s office in the last ep are literally the only folks in the whole ball of yarn that i don’t dislike/hate in a major way. just sayin.

I’m not sure if Saff wasn’t out yet, or news reporters didn’t know that he was out, or he was out and everyone knew but just didn’t respect him. Either way he seems to be very much like “I know who I am and you calling me the wrong name won’t change the man I know I am” and like.... im thats not the biggest dick energy on this pissing contest of a show then I don’t know what is!

I'm fascinated by your GC analysis! I always skip over that song bc I hate it and it's nice to know I'm valid for that, lol. I know you talked about Falsettos and Next to Normal (which I LOVE), but I was wondering what are some other shows with awful/unaware harmonies and more shows with really clever harmonies? I personally really like Hunchback's harmonies and think they're really effective.

I have only listened to Hunchback like once through so I can’t speak to that one. The first one that comes to mind is Fun Home. I analyzed Changing My Major in my college theory class and really love Edges of the World! I think musically Jeanine Tesori kind of hides the tonic a lot which works with the themes of these songs given self discovering and repression. I love her to DEATH! 

Overall she uses a lot of interesting chords which I love!
