I'm Actually Trying Now.

Starting High School I thought I would have a job at Elmer's once I turned 15, have my license and a car at 16 and have a boyfriend. Here I am, 7 months after I turned 16 and still no job, no license, no car and no boyfriend. Today when I got out of school at 12:35 I took the city bus home. The bus was completely packed. I got on the bus and already there were about 9 people without seats. There I stood holding the bar to prevent from loosing balance, when suddenly and a man in a wheelchair punched me. I look back and he yelled in my face "GET OFF!!!". "I will" I replied calmly. Inside I was shocked. The bus was still moving. We were a block away from his stop. Why yell at me? I was doing nothing wrong. Obviously the bus was full and I couldn't move out of his way even if I wanted to. Once the bus stopped and the doors opened, people poured out the door (including me). I was standing on the sidewalk waiting for this cranky old man in a wheelchair to get off the bus so I could get back on. While I was waiting and old boyfriend walks up to me and we started catching up. Once the cranky man got off the bus we got back on and sat down. He was talking about his birthday coming up and how he was going to be 18. Then this man (who looked to be about 30) said in a rude manner "You young kids should get up so the seniors can sit down". There were about 4 of us sitting so we looked at the man and stood up like "fine fucker" and we stood up. Nobody sat in the seats where we had been sitting. The bus arrived at the next stop and a lot of people got off including the rude man, my old boyfriend and one of the teens who were told to stand up. So I sat back down. This woman said "He was right! These seats weren't made for no damn kids!" I understand that the rules are to stand up for the elderly and disabled people, all of the elderly people were sitting. The people who were standing were about 30 yrs old. Pretty in shape people I might add. This day is why i'm starting to try. I'm going to the DMV tomorrow to get my license. I have been applying to jobs. That bus ride made me realize what I would turn into if I don't get off my ass and start succeeding. A grumpy person with a stick up my ass riding the bus for the rest of my life.
