This has been a challenging week, one in which I faced the possibility of a cancer diagnosis after discovering a lump in my breast. I later learned there are two. Today was all about mammograms and ultrasounds, and while I’m not entirely out of the weeds, needing an MRI to be safe, this experience has humbled me. I ran the gamut of emotions, sought peace on the water, danced in the rain, and made a commitment to myself to do all that I am able in order to heal my whole self. To those living with serious illness, you have a place in my heart. To me you are heroes. And to those I shared my situation with, your support has been everything. The badass in me honors the badass in you. Namaste. #scaryweek #imadeitthrough #lifeisagift #cherisheachmoment #choosekind #lovethislife #365grateful #peace https://www.instagram.com/p/B1w6M7OH1QM/?igshid=ivv0n3exf9gy
Topic Proposal & Research
I chose Alzheimer’s disease as my Topic Proposal because I have a personal tie to the topic of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. My mother has early onset Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, it has taken a massive toll on the family. It has only been two years since diagnosis and I have already constantly repeat myself to her because she will forget what we talked about just minutes ago. It is a heartbreaking experience to go through, but I feel as though this topic proposal will help me gain a better understanding of what has become reality for me. The topic is more interesting to me because for the past two years I have worked as a CNA in a few nursing homes specifically in the Alzheimer’s and Dementia units. This topic called to me from multiple perspectives of my life because it relates to my life in many aspects.
The annotated bibliography was one of the easiest assignments for me, it was also one of my favorites. The structure of the bibliography made it so easy to use when looking for information to include in my EIP. I liked the annotated bibliography because it was easy to find summaries of all of my sources in one spot. This method was something I had not used before, but it is something I will use to get me through all other papers that I write from now on. One of the best strategies I learned through the annotated bibliography was that you needed to site the source before beginning the summary, it was just like a title. This forced me to learn how to properly site the source for my reference page earlier in my writing process rather than at the end. This literally saved my life throughout this semester and it kept me organized, overall it was just a great resource to have!
This pic is from Christmas and I love it. It serves as a reminder that even through hard times you should always try and find love and laughter. #Christmas2018 #imadeitthrough #celebrate #mynieceandnephew #adorable #mybabies #weiscute #family #missingyou #spreadlove https://www.instagram.com/p/BsDiFHhHTOSowW2qiDeocj5P8wIlnNGpms9WiU0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nc5yk8yxoy30

Strong friend motivation!!! Today was one of the most productive days that I have had in over a month. Sometimes we make plans and our plans don't go as we want them to. It does not mean get discourage. But simply, have patience and stand on your faith. I haven't been able to do much but I am so surprised and thankful to all of the people that have given me physical help and strength during this process. I didn't know how I was going to make it happen being a single mother but it was because I didn't make it happen. Everything happened on God's terms. I can't do the things that I WANT to do right now because my plans are being rearranged but I am doing the things that I NEED to do right now. And most importantly that's staying motivated. I paid my mortgage up for a while, I got to clean up my house, cook Sunday dinner, and relax. It feels good. I'll talk to you guys tonight on the show! #motivation #faith #planschange #mortgage #bills #podcast #lumpsum #strong #weak #newborn #surgery #singleparent #realtalkwiththenewmizzluvliblackandmobinns #blackwhite #mommymogul #indurance #frugal #letemtalk #moveinsilence #guessinggames #blessed #nevergiveup #imadeitthrough #ButGod #leannotuntoyourownunderstanding #thenewmizzluvliblack1
