I might as well try to ask the internet! Anyone think they could help me?

I'm looking for an image editor that suits my needs. I'm not an artist, and it's kind of hard to find out if the programs available have the functions I do need or not. Photoshop is too expensive and also I hate Adobe for a few reasons, so I'd like something else, if at all possible.

What I need:

Support for large file sizes. (I've been using a program from the 00's. I run into trouble with this.)

Support for many layers and layer groups.

Real-time rotation of layers. (This would make everything so much easier than having to guess around by typing in angles!)

Nice resizing abilities.

Some basic tools: Clone brush. Selection, magic wand. Line tools. Basic paintbrush and eraser.

What I have no need for:

Advanced brushes and filters. I won't be using it for drawing or painting.

Any tips or suggestions?
