🗿 #Imaginemoi My Face on #RichardOrlinski Art 🐻 ___________________ 🇬🇧 In 2004 he started to make sculptures and has always been surrounded of a team of highly skilled technicians. Richard Orlinski mainly uses contemporary materials such as resin and aluminum, but also marble, stone and bronze. Supported by more than 90 galleries around the world, Orlinski opened his own Gallery in Paris,   Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in 2017. ___________________ 🇫🇷 Dès 2004, il s'est entouré d'une équipe de techniciens hautement qualifiés. Richard Orlinski utilise principalement des matériaux contemporains comme la résine et l'aluminium, mais également le marbre, la pierre et le bronze. @oh_de_laval | My imaginary Collection « HOT STUFF » | #imaginemoi. 🇬🇧 My first encounter with Oh de Laval’s art was on @stanleyboydston suggestion. I went on the website, and didn’t like it. I didn’t feel any connexion to the paintings. But once you’ve seen it, you can’t “unsee” it…. You remember and it grows on you… It will rarely speak to the “You” you present to the world. It will rather talk to the inner you with the darkest, sexiest, freest twisted thoughts. Moreover, most of her paintings could be that kind of dream you had, the one that you can’t quite understand and makes you blush because you didn’t know you had it in you. ____________________ 🇫🇷 La 1ère fois qu’on m’a parlé du travail de Oh de Laval, c’est Stanleyboydston qui l’a fait. Je suis allée voir son site et… je n’ai pas accroché, je n’ai rien ressenti. Mais une fois que tu vois ses tableaux, difficile d’oublier… Tu t’en souviens et tu chope la fièvre… Son travail ne s’adresse pas au “Soi” que l’on présente au monde, loin de là. Il parle plutôt au soi intérieur et secret, celui aux pensées les plus sombres, sensuelles, libres et tordues. Gustave Guillaumet (1840-1887), Le Sahara dit aussi Le désert, 1867. -@museeorsay | My imaginary Collection « HOT STUFF » | #imaginemoi ________________________ 🇫🇷 Guillaumet tranche avec la production orientaliste de l’époque, marqué part idéalisation de l’Afrique du Nord par ses contemporains. Ici, il se concentre sur l’essentiel. Du squelette du premier plan, figé dans des tonalités froides, on passe insensiblement à la lumière de l'improbable caravane surgissant à l'horizon. Avec une économie de moyens remarquable, une graduation subtile des plans qui mêle au ciel embrumé l'étendue poussiéreuse de la vaste plaine, Guillaumet parvient à traduire la quintessence du désert. Soucieux du détail naturaliste, il parvient pourtant à conserver le caractère onirique et intemporel que le public d'alors attache à l’Orient. _______________________ 🇬🇧 Guillaumet makes a break with Orientalist paintings of the time.  Whereas many of his contemporaries gave a deliberately idealized or anecdotal picture of North Africa, here we have a poignant vision, which focuses on the essential. From the skeleton in the foreground, frozen in cool tones, we slide imperceptibly towards the glow surrounding the improbable caravan looming on the horizon. With a remarkable economy of means, a subtle graduation of planes which mingles the dusty stretch of the vast plain with the hazy sky, Guillaumet manages to capture the quintessence of the desert.
