Hi! So I need your help if you have time to spare it! I'm a new graduated mental health counselor and I just got an office space. I have never decorated a space in my life and I'm overwhelmed! I have only vauge ideas and an almost nonexistent budget. The walls will be a light color and I'm thinking maybe dark furniture/bold accents with an industrial feel. But Idk how to translate that to an office setting. I'll be stalking ur blog for inspo but I felt u might be a great person to ask, thnx!
cool! the good thing about industrial style is that it’s pretty minimalist and you won’t have to have a ton of pieces to make it look nice! The inspo pix we are working with are below, and then I’ll get into my recommendations…
I’m assuming this is like a therapy room, so I think the main things needed to achieve this look are a good rug, a couch, an accent chair, and a few decor pieces.
A good way to warm up the space and make it cozy + comfortable for clients is accent pillows! A velvet one like this or a textured one like this would be really nice. These are also easy to DIY - get some sherpa or fleece fabric for ~$12 a yard and sew pillow cases!
I like this couch because it’s minimal and small for an office space, and I really like the look of dark brown leather for industrial spaces. The price is also decent!
This would be a good accent chair, and the reviews say it’s comfortable despite the industrial look!
This is a cool, industrial/minimal lamp to make the space feel cozier. The price is great too.
I think Goodwill/Value Village would be a great spot to find decor pieces. I would stick to one or two colors and a lot of texture! Look for vintage black and brass planters, muted pottery pieces, and abstract prints!
