i may be way off with this theory and im sure someone had already pointed this out...

but i got one of two theories

THEORY ONE:

So the little page in the beginning of the book points out how it has been traslated from Navarrian into modern language by Jesinia who is the Curator of the Scribe Quadrant. Obviously that takes place in the future.

Now I don't know about y'all...but the books I've read that have had a similar page like that...

everyone ends up dead.

and I h o p e that's not where the final two books lead us because I don't think my heart can take that.

Also how tragic would it be for Jesinia to have to go through journals or letters of her fallen friends etc etc.

THEORY TWO (which is more reasonable and less sad):

Jesinia is translating them for history purposes because we can infer not all of the texts in Basgiath are true and with the whole revolution that Xaden, Violet, and friends started, it would only make sense to rewrite history the correct way.

Plus my girl Jesinia will make sure these people go down in history.
