To work with bands directly, the biggest fun is to make is the “drummers perspective shot” During the tours I did with Stereophonics, Muse, Pogues, etc I was pushed on the stage by a drum tech ;:^) Since then they ask me to make my “famous drummer shot” The funny thing is, as a photographer you are never a part of the show. Standing behind a drummer makes you visible for everyone. I really had to get used to that! I remember Muse live at Wembley…The manager asked me specifically to make my ‘famous drummer shot’ ;:^) Muse’s stage is pretty clean. Not lots of amplifiers or what so ever… So when I went on stage to make that particular photo I hesitated… But after 3 minutes of kneeling down at the back of Dom’s drumkit I said to myself “It’s now or never” ;:^) I climbed up Dom’s drum riser to make the shot. Being 6 foot 4 everybody could see me rising behind Dom. But after all it was BIG FUN. Cheers, HP Muse and Stereophonics call it ‘my famous drummer shot’ It became a sort of ‘signature’ #imisslivemusic #imissliveperformance #drummerperspective #muse #stereophonics #whitelies #hanspetervanvelthoven #livephotography #bandphotography All 📷© @hpvv https://www.instagram.com/p/CLJeF1Qhzgd/?igshid=1lg8ijhb7xlx4
